One of the best features of Mountain Seas Lodge is the peace and quiet. It is the perfect place to relax and do nothing, catch up on reading, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. If an active and adventurous holiday is more your style, there is plenty on offer both on the property and on greater Flinders Island.
HIKING + NATURE ACTIVITIES
‘Enchanted Way’ Walk – directly on the property, this private 2km loop through thick bush features large eucalypt trees, tea tree forest, and a year-round cascading mountain stream. This is a relatively easy walk with a couple of moderate challenges along the way. Feel free to venture off on your own, or if you would like a guided tour contact one of the staff.
$40/ person for a guided walk, finishing with morning or afternoon tea.
Mt Strzelecki Peak –this is by far one of the best hikes on the island, and fortunately for us the entrance is only 2km from the lodge. The pinnacle offers 360 degree views, and along the way you will encounter gurgling streams, wildflowers, fern walls, incredible rock formations and the beautiful flora and fauna of the Tasmanian bush. Please allow 5 hours return to complete the walk, and note that the weather at the top is drastically cooler than at the bottom (even on a warm sunny day) so please take appropriate gear with you.
Trousers Point Beach – this beautiful beach is located 2km away and is the perfect spot for a refreshing ocean dip, beach picnic and sunset views. There is a wonderful marked 3km walking trail with incredible rock formations and flora and fauna. We have snorkelling equipment available for hire which is a great way to see the marine life beneath the crystal-clear water.

Breakfast is provided with each booking, and we can happily accommodate lunch, dinner, and/or special event catering services through our on-site restaurant or pop up container café.

There are many beautiful spots on the property, on the mountain or at the beach for a picnic or BBQ, and we are more than happy to offer our suggestions and recommendations. We offer premium food hampers or BBQ packs for lunch or dinner, with the option to include Tasmanian champagne or wine.
